Husband writes defiant tribute to his wife killed in Bataclan massacre

On Friday night you stolen away the life of an exceptional being,
the love of my life, the mother of my son.
But you will not have my hatred.
I do not know who you are and I don't want to know, you are dead souls.

If the God for whom you kill so blindly made us in His image,
each bullet in my wife's body would have been a wound in His heart.

Therefore, I will not give you the gift of hating you.
You have obviously sought it
but TO REPLY TO HATRED WITH ANGER
would be TO GIVE IN TO THE SAME THOUGHTLESSNESS
that has made you what you are.

You want me to be afraid,
to cast a mistrustful eye on my fellow citizens,
to sacrifice my liberty for security.
Lost.
Same player, same game.

I saw her this morning.
Finally, after nights and days of waiting.
She was just as beautiful as she was when she left on Friday evening,
as beautiful as when I fell madly in love with her more than 12 years ago.

Of course I'm devastated with grief, I will give you that tiny victory.
But this will be a short-term grief.
I know that she will join us every day and that
we will find each other again in a paradise of free souls
which you will never have access to.

We are only two, my son and I, but we are more powerful than all the world's armies.
In any case, I have no more time to waste on you.
I need to get back to Melvil who is waking up from his afternoon nap.
He’s just 17 months old; he’ll eat his snack like every day,
and then we’re going to play like we do every day;
and every day of his life this little boy will insult you with his happiness and freedom. Because you don’t have his hatred either.

Can't help but share this powerful message.
It is very easy to answer anger with anger but this man shames most of the people in the world, including me.

Among the messages of solidarity for Paris, there's been one message of defiance that has stood out. Antoine Leiris lost his wife in the Bataclan club. On Monday, he posted a message on Facebook. This is what he said. http://bit.ly/1N7tNSI

This place may look ordinary but it played a role in Korea's history.
With me loving historic places +  a love affair with books, I have to check this place out.

A Peanutty September

The reason why the Laagholic Buyog wasn't able to travel much this year. :D
After my photo safari in Batanes & a river cruise in Aloguinsan, only did foodtrips after.

Torta og Uban Pa sa Catmon

Another reason to drop by the town of Catmon in Cebu is for Torta Ug Uban Pa goodies.

When you are craving for torta but is in somewhere north, then go visit them.
Their version of torta is not greasy compared to Argao's.
Actually, their version is kind of a hybrid of torta+mamon.

Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavillion)

Kinkakuji (金閣寺, Golden Pavilion) is a Zen temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. Formally known as Rokuonji, the temple was the retirement villa of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and according to his will it became a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect after his death in 1408. Kinkakuji was the inspiration for the similarly named Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion), built by Yoshimitsu's grandson, Ashikaga Yoshimasa, on the other side of the city a few decades later.

Native Chicken Carenderia in Catmon

Sometime late last year, we get to eat here after distributing baby & toddler stuffs to Yolanda victims in Cebu North.

It is still so vivid on my mind how Catmon's native chicken warmed our starving tummies.

My pizza-with-no-name at Pizza Republic

I've been to one republic after the other... from Ribpublic to Pizza Republic! whehehe!

Pizza Republic, I think, is the first ever to have a "make-your-own" pizza concept here in Cebu.

Ribbin' at Ribpublic Diner

Since the name Ribpublic, I was expecting they'll offer quite a few ribs on their menu.
But maybe because they just opened early last month, they only have one.
I hope they'll add more.

Once Upon a Japanese Visa Time

Long before the news on the planned visa-free entry for Filipino tourists, visa is being required upon entry.

Not too long ago (Nov 2013), I visited beautiful Japan as part of our honeymoon trip.
We stayed there for 10days.
So how did I get my tourist visa from Cebu?

Take time to REALIZE...

HHmmm... this song has been playing in my head lately.

"R E A L I Z E"
Colbie Caillat

Take time to realize,
That your warmth is crashing down on in.
Take time to realize,
That I am on your side.
Didn't I, didn't I tell you?

Sunday 2pm Rendezvous

When someone asks you to meet him/her at Sunday 2pm, do clarify if it's a "when" or a "where".
Be mindful of the prepositions used: "on" or "at". ^_^

I can see your eyebrow rise. ahihihih.
It can also be a "where" because there's a bookshop-themed cafe here in Cebu with that name.
